Who we are

Dab Hand is provided by a sole trader ("we", "us", "our"). If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, you can contact us at alexpmusgrave@gmail.com.

What we collect

When you create an account and use Dab Hand, we collect:

Account details — your email address, and if you sign in with Google, the name, email address, and profile picture Google shares with us.
Job data you enter — job titles, descriptions, prices, due dates, statuses, and any custom statuses you create.
Photos you upload — attached to individual jobs, at your choice.
App preferences — display settings such as your chosen theme, currency, and branding (logo/business name), so they stay consistent across your devices.

We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and we do not collect any data beyond what's listed above.

How we use it

We use your data only to operate the app for you: storing your jobs and photos, keeping you signed in, and syncing your preferences across devices. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Who we share it with

Your data is processed by the following third-party service providers, who act as data processors on our behalf:

Supabase — hosts our database, file storage, and account/sign-in system. Supabase's privacy policy.
Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google, to verify your identity. Google's privacy policy.

We do not share your data with anyone else.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and job data for as long as your account is active. Completed jobs are moved to your Archive, where they remain unless you delete them yourself or choose to enable automatic deletion.

To help manage storage responsibly, photos attached to archived jobs are automatically deleted after a set period (3, 6, or 9 months, whichever you choose in Settings) — this happens automatically and isn't something you can turn off, though the job record itself (title, price, description) is kept. Separately, Dab Hand includes a setting, on by default, that automatically deletes entire archived job records after a longer period (12 months by default, adjustable up to 5 years, or you can turn this off entirely in Settings). Full job records include price information you may need to keep for your own accounting or tax purposes, so it's worth checking your own record-keeping obligations and adjusting or disabling this setting if a 12-month default doesn't suit your business.

If you'd like your account and all associated data deleted entirely, contact us at alexpmusgrave@gmail.com and we'll action this promptly.

How we protect it

All data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
Your job data and photos are only ever accessible to your own account — enforced at the database level, not just in the app's interface.
Photos are stored privately and are never publicly accessible; the app generates short-lived, secure links to display them to you.
We don't store your password — sign-in is handled by Supabase's authentication system (or by Google, if you use Google sign-in).
Your account can only be signed in on one device at a time — signing in elsewhere automatically signs out any other device, with an on-screen explanation.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

Ask what personal data we hold about you
Ask us to correct inaccurate data
Ask us to delete your data
Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format
Object to how we process your data

Children's privacy

Dab Hand is a business tool and isn't intended for use by children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Local storage on your device

We use your browser or device's local storage to keep you signed in and to cache your app preferences for faster loading. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Dab Hand after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.

It is not, however, legal advice, and it hasn't been reviewed by a solicitor.
